Merrill Excited to Return to Laguna Seca in TA2

Monterey, California [May 2, 2025]— The 2025 Trans Am Championship CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series now heads to Laguna Seca for the second race on back to back weekends. The Mike Cope Racing Team welcomes Thomas Merrill back to the team after having a schedule conflict at Sonoma. Thomas is excited to be back racing at his home track in the No. 26 HP Tuners / Franklin Road Apparel / Cope Chevy Camaro. The last time Merrill competed in Trans-Am at Laguna Seca was in 2022. He’s certainly excited to be back wheeling a TA2 car down the Corkscrew.

MCR will have three cars competing at Sonoma. Tom Sheehan, Will Robinson, and Thomas Merrrill will make up our driver lineup. The weekend kicks off with Friday practice and qualifying. The race is set to take the green flag on Saturday May 3rd at 12:05pm ET for 45 laps of TA2 racing.
